So I'm not a domestic goddess

On Wednesday, Brenda came over early in the morning to help me bottle cooked chicken and make homemade strawberry jam. It all went so well! Until she left. Then I was left to figure out the pressure cooker by myself. Haha. In Brevan's words, we "had a near-death experience." Everything was going smoothly until suddenly the pressure plug flew off the top and all the water and steam screamed at me and shot up on my ceiling, making it feel like a rainstorm in the house. The girls, who were already in bed, came running down the stairs terrified. Ryan and I ran in opposite directions, and . . .here's the great part . . .didn't grab the baby out of the kitchen. Ya, I'm that big of a loser. Luckily, my house didn't blow up and I've been able to finish my bottling, from the help of another friend.

Sometimes I wonder why I even try!

Those pressure cookers scare the crap out of me! I won't use them! I'm so glad no one was hurt!

I've never used a pressure cooker and I'm not sure I'm going to try now.

HAha! I can just picture this! I use a big spagetti pot with lids under the jars. No whistling or hot water spraying. If it boils to high just turn it down.
I thought of you today - my first trip to aldi's:) I think I'll still buy my frozen chicken from cosco though:) Heehee:)
I filled out the paper this morning. I was going to bring it back to church. Or you can pick it up if you need it. I don't have your number anymore(that's why i haven't called).

How scary! I'm glad you are all okay!! Good job on canning! The only thing I can are peaches and strawberry freezer jam, I've never tried meat!
