Last day of summer

I was determined to make the last couple days of summer fun! We had a lot of things planned for the week, but then it was so stormy that we had to change plans. On Monday I spent a couple hours getting everyone ready and the van packed to head down to Kansas City for the day. We were going to see the Narnia Exhibit at the Science Center. I drove down to Kansas City, paid for parking, walked and walked to get where we needed to go . . .and found out that everything is closed down on Mondays. What?? So we drove all the way back home and tried again the next day, when it was actually open! The Narnia Exhibit was awesome! They didn't let you take pictures inside the exhibit, because they have all the props and clothing from the real movies, which are copyrighted. I had someone take these pictures of us when we were done at the exhibit, so Logan is NOT very happy. He threw enormous fits when I made him leave the fun areas. The exhibit made the books come to life, literally!

Then we walked over to the Crown Center, where they had a free Lego Exhibit, where everything is made of Legos. These pictures don't give the exhibit justice, because they are life-size and amazing!

The kids sat and built with Legos in the play area for quite a while afterward. It's funny how toys are always better somewhere else . . .

We also ate out for lunch and then got ice cream at Sheridan's. It was such a fun day, and it was hard to admit that summer was actually over!
