My oldest niece, Ashlyn, took these pictures while we were staying with her family in Idaho. She is an amazing photographer, considering she's only 13! I love that girl. For some reason, I measure my age off my oldest nephew, Brandon, who is 17, and Ashlyn. I guess I see my kids every day, so I don't notice how they change over time as much as I do those family members that I rarely get to see. I can still smell the baby shampoo of Brandon and Ashlyn, and it makes me feel old. I'm so proud of all my nieces and nephews, but I have a special place in my heart for the oldest. I flew down to Arizona with my parents right after Brandon was born. I remember holding him on the couch inside Tiff and Dan's small apartment, and thinking he was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen. Then I promptly went outside and tried to get a tan (I was still a silly teenager!). I was living in Logan, UT when Ashlyn was scheduled to be born, so I took the day off work and college and drove to Sandy. I was ecstatic to see my new niece, and got to hold her soon after she came out of the delivery room. Brandon and Ashlyn are both such great examples for my kids, and I'm so glad that my kids admire them. They are both very talented, kind, smart, and spiritual teenagers. And now, on to the pictures taken by my talented niece.
