Some randoms off my phone

I am camera cursed. I end up buying a new camera every couple years because they break, and the problems are somehow never covered by the warranties. Here I am again with a broken camera, so any pictures that have been taken within the past couple weeks are off my phone.

The girls participated in the High School fundraiser again this year. They learned a couple cheers which they performed with the cheerleaders before the football game began, and a longer dance with the Golden Girls that they performed at half-time. I find it funny that they are both so excited about dancing and cheering. I always imagined my tall daughters doing basketball, volleyball, track, or anything less . . .girly. Maybe they will broaden their horizons as they get older! Brynlie just LOVES to dance, and Lindsey is destined to be a cheerleader, with all her energy and love for performing. She was literally the star of the show! While waiting for the organized dances to begin, she would shake her body and yell for the crowd to get excited. We got the whole thing on video, and it's hilarious! She does not have one shy bone in her body.
We stayed and watched the rest of the football game. It's fun to cheer for our Bulldogs, since they have won 16 straight games and usually win the State Championship.
This is how Brevan looked for most of the game. Chaotic football games are not exactly his thing.

The next few pictures were taken at Sophie's birthday party. She was sweet enough to let Lindsey tag along with the big girls.

On one of the crazy weekday evenings, Ryan was driving children to some activities while I was driving other children to different activities. We finally met up at the Middle School for a Band meeting, and decided to take both cars through the McDonald's drive-through to grab some quick dinner (yuck) before heading out for more activities. He was in his truck in front of me and suddenly threw an empty banana peel at the van. Little did he know, I had a NEW banana in the van, and threw it at the truck. Unfortunately it landed in the bed of the truck, so I yelled for Lindsey to quickly climb out the back window of the truck and throw it back to me. She climbed out and got it, but then handed it to Ryan who immediately threw it at the van windshield again. Me and Brevan (my fellow van passenger) laughed so hard as we drove away! On a side street, we tried putting on the windshield wipers, which made the banana get stuck in the side view mirror. Good times!

Brynlie has been referred to as "Snaggletooth" for quite a while at our house, because her top middle tooth has been loose and jutting out. The poor girl is the one child in 3rd grade who still had her top teeth left. One night my neighbor came over and told Brynlie that tooth was coming out! After much weeping and wailing, Sarah got the tooth out, and Brynlie has been showing a proud smile ever since. I immediately took her to Sonic (where I took this picture) for ice cream, even though it was already way past bedtime.
Speaking of teeth, the Tooth Fairy has been super busy at our house the past couple months. Brevan has lost 4 teeth since getting his braces off last month. When a tooth is even slightly loose, he gets his nails under the root and yanks it out. It's so strange that Brevan doesn't feel pain the same way everyone else does. Even as a little boy, he would calmly walk up to us with his arm obviously broken and say, "I think maybe I hurt my arm." Lindsey is also a tooth-daredevil and loves to pull out her teeth when they get lose! We don't have to prod her at all, so she's lost 2 teeth already in the past month.
Brevan started playing the trombone in the Middle School Band. So far, it sounds . . .loud. But I'm glad he's enjoying it and expanding his musical abilities.
Lindsey is loving Kindergarten and has a bagillion friends. We try to talk to her often about appropriate ways to be a friend, because she tends to have the Queen Bee syndrome at times. All that energy and excitement is great when she puts it to good use! She is able to stay awake on the bus ride home now. All-day school wore her out for the first couple weeks, and she would actually fall asleep on the lap of her friends.
Logan is the most stubborn and funny little boy in the world. He has become quite the negotiator lately, and cracks me up with his knowledge of how to get whatever he wants. He has been wetting the bed lately, which is strange because he's been completely potty-trained for quite a while. When he wakes up, he yells something like this: "No one is allowed to come see me! Everything is fine in here! But I do need a bath." When we walk in (to find him hiding behind the door) and ask, "Logan, did you pee the bed?" he looks at the ceiling and says, "Hmmm. Maybe."
I had "the puberty talk" with my oldest daughter last night. It was actually quite fun, and we ended up laughing and talking for a long time on my bed. I'm a bit in denial that my girl will be 9 this month. She was completely oblivious to many of the "changes" that happen in puberty, so the conversation was a bit interesting at times!
