When it rains, it pours. Literally.

After last Saturday night's storm, the retaining wall in our backyard fell (pictured in the previous post).

After Tuesday night's storm, our storage room flooded, ruining many decorations and papers.

On Wednesday, one of the children dropped a quarter in the garbage disposal, where it got stuck. Long story short, a new garbage disposal was purchased for $300.

After Thursday night's storm, Brevan's basement bedroom became a lake. Much of the pad and carpet had to be torn out and will need to be replaced.

Apparently we have foundation problems in our new house. Ballpark-figure quotes have come in somewhere between "cancel all vacations for the next 2 years" expensive and "sell off a child" expensive. Home-owners insurance is calling it a "pre-existing condition," and since the house was a foreclosure, we signed paperwork stating that the bank can not be held accountable for any problems we incur.

Add all that to a very emotionally-draining week. Someone better hide my car keys before I start driving and don't return.
