Lovin' every minute in . . .

I took a break from the usual craziness and flew to Utah for 4 days. I had been wanting to get some "therapy" from my Dad about some issues and thoughts I've been having with the kiddos. Ryan told me I should just go to Utah, talk with my Dad about everything and anything bothering me, and spend some time ALONE. What a wise husband I have! Before I left, he told me I shouldn't plan on seeing people, but should just do "what I wanted, when I wanted." But once I got there, I was excited to see some friends and family members that I don't often get to see. It was the most perfect mini-vacation ever!

After 4 days of fun and relaxation, I got on a plane to come back to my 5 favorite people in the world. I took this picture while at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It reminded me that breaks are good, but we are expected to be anxiously engaged in good causes. I love that Brigham Young used the "busy as bees" motto, and the word "industry" to describe the ideal life of a Latter-Day-Saint. That said, I truly believe that I should be putting my focus and energy into those things that matter most. Will my kids ever be world-famous athletes? Probably not. But the little things I do for my kids . . .family dinners, volunteering at their schools, praying with them, helping them feel the Spirit in our home, being available when they need me, speaking often of Christ and the atonement, spending time together as a family . . .can bless their futures.
I bought these suckers at the airport and brought them home to these cute short people. It was so good to see them and be reminded that my favorite place to be is home.
