Scan Worthy

Some random pictures and papers that are worthy of scanning before I file them away:

Ryan:

He looks like a giant standing next to some of his golf/work buddies (no offense, guys); Steve Thorne (also our Bishop), Dave Lundgren and Shawn Thomas.
Brevan:

A talk he wrote by himself and gave in Primary last Easter. Brevan struggles with handwriting neatly, because he has poor fine motor skills, so I will type out his awesome talk:

I would like to start out my talk with a quote; "Love is a feeling of deep devotion, concern and attention. The greatest example of God's love for His children is found in the infinite Atonement of Christ." (Anonymous) I would like to talk about the atonement. Does it not say in the scriptures, "A new commandment I give unto you; that you love one another (John 13:34)." Do we not have a children's hymn about loving one another? Yes. And there are many more. Two good examples are, first, D&C 59:6, "Though shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" and D&C 112:29, "If though love me, serve me and keep my commandments." Everything in the scriptures is about loving someone. More, it says, "Even as I have said unto you, keep the commandments." We have a two-way promise. If we keep the commandments and love one another, we will return to heaven. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Seriously, how cool is it that he made up a quote by "Anonymous?" That funny kid. Here's the copy of the talk in his own handwriting.

My Mother's Day poem.
After being sent to bed during Family Home Evening (not an uncommon event for our children) and without dessert, Brevan wrote himself this note that I found the next day next to his bed. He often tells me he hates that he doesn't remember to stay mad at people. I laughed so hard when I read this.
Dear Brevan, It is morning and you need to remember the bad things that the girls say about what I do to the girls when I'm mad. Also remember how I was punished by Mom, and Logan continuously tackles me. Sincerely, Brevan

Brynlie:

Bryn drew this picture last year and entered it into an art contest. The winner got to have their picture on the cover of the yearbook. Brynlie won! She is a great artist.

The talk she gave in Primary about a month ago. I gave her the assignment to speak on "Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy" because she was grumbling that we wouldn't allow her to attend Megan's roller-skating birthday party that day.

Lindsey:

To my Mom,
You can rule the kingdom, you can rule the sea, but best of all you are my Mommy and I love you so.

And Logan:
This picture was taken at a birthday party for his friend, Brett. He is sitting next to Dominick. Doesn't his face just show pure joy?
Taken by the Nursery Leader, to put on his Father's Day card.

A picture he drew of me, and he wrote his name on top. :)
