After spending Thursday, August 4th at the aquarium, Brynlie was wanting some individual attention. Ryan and I take turns taking kids on "date nights" and I thought it would be fun to explore some of the art museums in town that Bryn had been fascinated with. So we drove all over Depoe Bay and Lincoln City, but they were all closed. She had also wanted to visit a Christmas store that had thousands of ornaments. No luck, because it was closed also. I thought I'd lift her spirits by taking her to the huge outlet mall to do some girl shopping at clothing stores that interest her, like Gymboree, Gap and Justice. It went well for a while and we found her some darling outfits, but when I started making her choose between outfits, she got completely overwhelmed. Making decisions is one of the hardest things in the world for Brynlie. She ended up having a major meltdown of tears that took quite a while to get over. On the drive back to the beach house, I had the thought to stop at a local cafe for some hot chocolate. This idea went over well and Bryn ended the date with a smile (and some whip cream) on her face!
