Feeling blue. Royal blue.

We are big BYU fans at our house, and have been beyond ecstatic at the fantastic season they've had, heading into March Madness ranked at #3 and looking at a Number 1 seed in the tournament.  We've soaked up every minute of their incredible team during the few chances we've had to see their games televised in Missouri.  So with the suspension of Brandon Davies, one of the starting centers, we are feeling rather blue.  It's so disappointing that Davies violated the honor code at such a crucial time for his teammates.  At the same time, I am bursting with pride that BYU upheld their end of the deal and suspended him.  And they didn't even waste much time.  After finding out about his violation on Monday, they only waited one day before taking action.  Some may say they should have waited until after the basketball season to instill the consequence.  I figure that's not how life works, and I'm proud of BYU administrators for doing the honest thing.  As many of the articles I've read have stated:  Davies made the choice to attend BYU, knowing full well what was expected of him when he signed that honor code paper.

This coming from the girl who got kicked out of the BYU library for wearing shorts that showed far too much leg.  But that is a story for another day.  Or not.

What a black (and royal blue) day for BYU and it's faithful fans.
