Turning Nine

We celebrated Brynlie's birthday a day early (last Monday) since our Tuesdays evenings are busy with activities. We happened to be feeding the Elders that night, so they joined in on the festivities. Dinner was Navajo Tacos, one of Bryn's favorite dishes, followed by a Family Home Evening by the Elders (I'm tricky that way and feed the missionaries on at least one Monday every month because then they can present a FHE for us). The kids have been learning songs about missionaries in Primary, so they stood and sang for the Elders.

The Beautiful Brynlie Janae, blowing out her 9 candles.

Time to open presents! She reads every card carefully before turning her attention to the gift.
New jammies and a headband from Grandma and Grandpa Ellefsen!
A very silly alarm clock we gave her. It has a bunch of different phrases spoken in random accents that make her laugh every morning.
The cute jewelry box we gave her.

And she received $25 from her Grandma and Grandpa Springer, which she spent at Walmart to buy this Doctor Barbie set.
I absolutely LOVE that this girl is in no hurry to grow up. She has not missed a day of playing with Barbies or dolls since she was 3 years old. She has the greatest imagination I've ever seen and allows her little sister to play with her ALL THE TIME. Lindsey even follows Bryn over to her friend's houses. Brynlie is an incredible example to her siblings . . .and ME. When I grow up, I want to be just like this sweet girl.
