All of these moments have occurred today.
Logan: For Christmas I only want three things.
Me: OK, what do you want?
Logan: A real kitty, a real baby with a face, and a real gun.
(For the record, he will not be getting any of those things. Although I did get to hold a baby boy in sacrament today and was in heaven. I couldn't stop smelling him and rubbing my cheek on his soft hair. There's just nothing that makes me happier than snuggling and playing with a sweet baby.)
Logan is still having a hard time understanding that Sunday is a special day where we don't do all the activities during the day that we do on the other days of the week.
Logan: Can I watch a show on TV?
Me: No, because it's Sunday.
Logan: But I will just close the blinds so the sun doesn't get in my eyes!
Brevan passed the Sacrament for the first time today! We were so proud of him. He took the act very seriously, so he walked very slowly and stared at the tray constantly for fear of dropping it. Ryan and I were beaming throughout the whole thing!
After church, Brevan found Ryan and told him there was some sad news. When Ryan inquired, Brevan said that everyone in the deacon's quorum had been voted into a special position, and no one had voted for him. Confused, Ryan asked him what the special positions were. Brevan explained that when he got to class, they had to raise their hand to "vote" all the other 4 deacons into the "special" positions of president, 1st counselor, 2nd counselor and secretary. He was heartbroken that no one voted for him!
Tonight, Brevan sat in the basement and watched a football game with Ryan for a few minutes. Then he ran upstairs and yelled to me and the girls, "those Cardinals are freakin' ba***rds!" Shocked, I asked him where he heard that last word in the sentence. He asked me if it was a bad word, to which I replied "yes, it's one of the swear words we don't say." He told me that boys say it all the time to each other in the locker room, and he had no idea what it meant. That boy is so innocent. I love him.
