Lots and LOTS of relaxing. It was wonderful. Ryan took this picture of Logan last Sunday. After church, Ryan and I both fell asleep and hoped the kids wouldn't kill each other while we rested. When Ryan got up, he found that Logan had just given up and fallen asleep on the kitchen floor.

Brevan worked hard to create this structure that he got from his Beyond Basics teacher. It plugged in and had water pumped through all the tubes. Pretty cool.

My girls love to play "stylists." They do each other's hair and makeup (check out the second row of eyebrows on Lindsey! She also had goth eyes . . .nice) and put on "cute" outfits. I let them style me up on this day also, but I didn't allow a picture to be taken of me. It was NOT good.

We spent a lot of time in the kitchen, making and eating delicious food. Ryan and I seem to be a little more pudgy around the mid-section now.

I had an ice cream party for the kids I'd been teaching in my CTR7 class this year. They are such a good group of kids and I miss them already! I'm sure I'll start to love my new group of 6-year-olds very quickly, though. Pictured below are Charlotte Rader and Campbell Condiff.

One day, Brenda and I took our kids to the Crown Center in Kansas City. The kids played at Kaleidoscope (an art center owned by Hallmark) for about an hour. Then we took them to Fritz's Train Restaurant. The food is rather disgusting, but the kids love to have their food delivered to them on a train. This is Lindsey, Jillian and Brynlie.

Brevan took his new digital camera and took pictures that he uploaded to his blog.

Alright, I realize I'm just a wee bit prejudice here, but seriously - aren't those just the most beautiful blue eyes? I love my little Logan-berry!

Cute Jorja doing her girliest grin!

Logan Simmons doing his signature look. What a ham!

These kids just make me smile! All their personalities crack me up.

Ryan and I got new passports. Oh, the places we will go with these!

Brynlie had a sleepover party one night with 2 of her friends, Megan Smothers and Kennedy Kooi. They were hilarious!! One minute they'd be "fighting" and I'd have to step in to stop the tears. One time when I asked what happened, Brynlie said that it hurt her feelings when Megan and Kennedy said they didn't like Brevan. Brynlie was sobbing and said, "now they think I hate them and I don't! I love them both! But I just love my brother so much, too!" Then the next minute they'd be rolling all over the floor in a fit of giggles. It was a bit difficult to get them to finally fall asleep, and they were up 6 hours later. They put on a singing/dancing performance for us that is pictured below.

The kids enjoyed lots of Daddy-time. It was great to have Ryan home so much!

Other fun things:
*Ryan and I went on quite a few dates. I think we went out 5 times in a two-week period! We ate at some of our favorite restaurants, hung out with good friends and saw a movie in the theater.
*All of us went to bed and got up whenever we felt like it most of the time. The kids were often up until 11:00! I absolutely loved having such a relaxed schedule. All the kids activities (school, karate, computer club, dance, etc.) were cancelled for the 3 weeks of winter break. It was great to not feel like I was living in my van, but now it's also great to get back to a routine.

Your Logan does have beautiful eyes. I think we are probably all a little pudgy in our mid sections after the holidays. I know I am. It has been so hard to get on a health kick after having so many treats the last two weeks. Ahhhh!
That sounds just fabulous! The holidays are such a fun time and your family is just the cutest! I can't wait for Adri to grow up and want to play dress up and make up and all that fun. I think I would fair better with that than running cars and flying transformers all over the house. Love your family.
Oh my gosh! I LOVE these pictures! You have such a fun family! And, yes, I can't wait to hear about your foreign adventures. I'm still trying to talk Graigg into maybe hitting Mexico with you guys!
