The newest member of our family

As most of you probably know, Ryan and I are not pet people. Our kids, however, have been begging for a pet. They would really love a dog, but I finally settled on a fish. Well, today the fish joined our family. The kids and I stared at all the fish at Petsmart for a while before deciding on this colorful fish. Brevan was disappointed that we didn't get a goldfish, then Brynlie was disappointed after we left and she realized the fish was a boy, so could not have the name Priscilla. All the way home we discussed what we would like to name the fish. The kids came up with some original ideas, and when each of them made their final decision, we put the names in a bowl and let Logan draw out the winning name. Brynlie won the contest with the name Lincoln. Brevan wanted it to be Baxter and Lindsey wanted Spongey. Welcome to our family, Lincoln! Let's hope you live longer than the goldfish my Dad got me when I was a teenager - it lasted just over a week.
