The temple (part 1)

The day finally arrived!  I was lucky enough to have tickets to see the temple on the first day of the open house, April 7th.  We met some friends for dinner before our tour time at the temple.  Saying I was excited would be a huge understatement, but I was unprepared for how spiritual the evening was for me.  Some of my thoughts about this temple are personal, so I won't elaborate, but having this temple so close to my home means the world to me.

It had been a long day for me, before we got away for our date of dinner and the temple.  I had driven 7 great (but ornery) teenage boys to a Temple Cultural Celebration practice at a Stake Center over an hour away, and spent the day helping the 500 kids in attendance learn the songs and dance moves.  I look so exhausted in this picture, even though I was trying not to let it show.

The girl on the right, Sarah, is a friend I recently re-connected with.  She and her husband, Shawn, are both amazing Christians.  I think they enjoyed the tour of the temple, and brought along their adorable little Kenzie, and Sarah's mom, sister and niece.

I head off to Vegas tomorrow with my sisters and Mama, but when I return there will be many more temple open house visits with other friends!

Fun! I got to visit the temple yesterday. It was so beautiful! I am so glad I got to experience it. If I can find a sitter, I want to try to go one more time by myself so I can truly listen.
