Notable happenings of the past 24 hours

1. Logan is completely done wearing his "helmet!" For those of you who didn't know, he was born with a funny shaped head and neck muscles that didn't work quite right, so he's had to wear a helmet since March to correct the problems. It cost a cheap (haha) $2500 (and our insurance wouldn't pay a dime because they called the problem "cosmetic." Seriously, they put his messed-up head in the same category as a tummy tuck!) He had to wear it 23 hours a day, although we got lazy the past couple months and didn't make him wear it nearly that often. His hair was just getting so long, blonde and fuzzy that it was hard to cover it up with an ugly helmet!

2. My tooth chipped and almost broke in half. Good thing I have a dentist appt. on Tuesday. I hate dental problems, and my teeth are horrible, no matter how much I take care of them. I sure hope my kids have better teeth than mine.

3. Speaking of teeth, Brynlie FINALLY lost her first tooth today! It's been dangling by a thread and after much coaxing, she left me pull it out today. She didn't even know it was out because she hadn't felt anything. She was VERY excited that now she doesn't have to be the only kid in first grade (or so she says) who hasn't lost a tooth! The drama of 6-year-olds.

4. I beat the battle against a sinus infection without having to visit the doctor, thanks to some advice from my wise sister!

5. I have decided to come out of the closet and admit that I LOVE Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown songs. Ya, not something I'm too proud of, but those young kids can really belt out a tune! Just for the record, I still don't like the Jonas Brothers, but my kids are working on me in that area.

6. Ryan gets back from his business trip to Utah tonight. He was able to stay an extra day and attend his brother, Sean's, wedding reception/BBQ. Sean just married Ashley Noble last month, and after a honeymoon they had a BBQ in Provo Canyon, complete with volleyball games, horseshoes and playground equipment for the kids. When I heard about the plans, I said to Ryan, "Why didn't we do something cool like that for our reception?" And he answered, "because we got married in February when it was 10 degrees outside!" Good point. I was sad to have to miss the reception today.

7. I managed to get the entire house completely clean while Ryan was out of town. Hmmm, doesn't it seem a little strange that my house actually stays cleaner when Ryan is gone? There must be a reason for that :).

8. I chopped my hair off yesterday. O.K., it's not completely chopped off, but it's shoulder-length now. I'm actually thinking of going shorter next time. I've just gotten bored with the same old style. We'll see what Ryan thinks of it when he gets home, because he really likes my hair long. Oh, well. I can always remind him that he's bald, so he has no say in my hairstyle! :)

9. Ryan called me this afternoon and quickly asked me to get the car insurance info. for him because he'd gotten in a car accident (not a serious one) in the rental car he's been driving out in Utah this week. I'm dying to hear the details when he gets home because he didn't want to discuss them in front of the other drivers. I'm very glad he wasn't injured.

10. I spent last evening hanging out with some good friends. There's nothing like a night of girl talk to put me in a good mood. I hired our usual babysitter and said that I'd pay her double because Logan has had a serious case of the "runs" this week and I knew it would not be an enjoyable night for her! But it was a great night away for me.

11. And last, Logan will say "bye" and wave on demand now. Yeah!! It's so cute that I made the girls pretend to be leaving in the car so that he'd wave bye to them. Oh my gosh, that kid is cute when he's not being evil!! We've nicknamed him "The Bully Baby." He isn't afraid to take on anyone, no matter how big they are.

Wow....no lack of excitement in your household! And I too just love it when they wave. My kids wave to Jason every morning as he leaves to work and for a while, Adri would wave to every car she would see or hear (and no one else) because she loved waving to daddy's car.

We missed you at grandma's last night. The house is absolutely incredible. So much has been kept and restored. It is unbelievable! My parents took a million pictures and I'll let you know where they are when they post them. Take care.
