Petition to watch "iCarly"

Translation: iCarly is a TV show that the kids love to watch. About a month ago, Ryan and I decided we did not want them to watch that show. I won't get into our reasoning, but I didn't realize there would be such an uproar! Brynlie wrote this note today, because she desperately wants to watch the new iCarly episode that's on TV tonight.

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

"iCarly" is something we love a lot. Why are you taking it away? All my friends are going to see the new one, and I'll be the only one who won't see it. The Simmons let their kids watch it. And they have Jorja. How can you let someone 4 years older than her not watch it? I'm getting older. I was baptised a little while ago and I am starting to like older girl things (and shows). Wizards, Suite Life and Hannah Montana. I'm my friend's favorite jokester, I roller skate a lot. I wear leggings and like high heels. I don't like princesses. I wear underwear, and not diapers, and I don't have tea parties with dolls or play dress-up and then have a ball anymore. I'm not little anymore, you know. Let's take a break and think about the show - Sam is aggressive, but that's a great part of the show. And she doesn't attack adults; she attacks Freddie. That's what makes things funny. The dating is a little much, but Jorja watches it out of all people. Before you say no, stop! Because I am old enough. I know what a thousand plus a thousand is, I know that Dora is not a real girl, I know that if you put a piece of paper in a bottle and then put an egg on top of the (glass) bottle, then light the paper on fire, the egg will explode. And I know that there's no such thing as a fairy that flies around and sprinkles fairy dust wherever they go. I'm in second grade. You can't keep me from that show like this! Well, yes you can, but please give it back. I'm begging you guys. You can still say no, but it will be your fault when I come home from school depressed because everyone saw it but me tonight. Just remember that.

Love, Brynlie

LOL!!! that is classic! I'm so glad you shared. I'm quite curious as to what your response was. After all, according to your Santa talk, she IS all grown up! Hee hee. The things I have to look forward to.

Oh my Ali! You are in trouble as you have a debater on your hands. :) Good luck with that. I agree with you - it bugs me that there are no adults on that show. Love & miss you guys!
