Great times with Grandparents

Ryan's parents spent December 27th through January 4th at our house. It was so nice to have family visit us around the holidays! Some of the fun activities we did:

Left the kids with a babysitter while the adults ate dinner at Garrozo's (yum) and saw the movie Sherlock Holmes.

Spent a night at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City, which looked out over the lights of the Plaza.

Let the kids play at the Crayola Playland in Crown Center.

Went to the "Toy and Miniature Museum," where the boys were bored out of their minds and the girls were in dollhouse heaven.

Bought all the fixings for the traditional Ellefsen Christmas dinner . . .prime rib, rice with mushrooms, rolls and onion soup.

Had Christmas all over again, with all the fun presents Grandma and Grandpa gave everyone.

Relaxed, watched movies, ate, ate more, went to many fun restaurants, played with the kids, and spent time enjoying each other.

Brevan's reaction to getting the Rush Hour game from his grandparents. I think he likes it!
Funny story here. After 6 weeks with the same earrings, Brynlie was finally able to take out the first pair and put in some cute ones. Wow was there a lot of drama. I'm not sure I've ever seen her more traumatized than when we were trying to get those earrings out. After one day of wearing a pair of some darling new earrings from Grandma, one slipped out while she was sleeping. By morning, the whole had grown back a tiny bit. Instead of letting us poke a quick hole again, Brynlie has decided that she's done with having her ears pierced. What a silly girl. I told her she will have to pay to have them pierced when she's ready again. The good news is that Lindsey now doesn't want her ears pierced until she's "very, very old!"
Logan trying on the roller skating set Brynlie got from Grandma and Grandpa Ellefsen.
Roy and Logan singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider." The sun is coming out and drying up the rain!
And now the Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the spout again . . .

Getting hot chocolate and ice cream at Sheridan's!
