Brevan has stayed home from school with the flu the past few days. So far the rest of the family hasn't gotten the yucky sickness, but I'm still crossing my fingers. Poor guy is bored to death. He was especially upset yesterday, when he had to miss his full day of Beyond Basics. But leave it to Lisa Haney, the most wonderful teacher in the world, to stop by our house last night to bring Brevan activities to do, like all the ingredients for making slime! I'm so grateful for her. She makes Brevan feel so loved and happy.
I went into the doctor this week, because I've been short of breath, felt pressure in my chest, and had some pain. Weird. I got an EKG that was perfect and was hooked up to a heart monitor for 24 hours, but I haven't gotten the results. I'm sure they will say I'm fine. Hopefully it all just goes away on it's own. :)
Our Primary program is a week from Sunday. It's keeping me busy and a bit stressed, but I think it will go really well. I also started the Book Club, and we will meet for the first time next month. Also, Brenda and I run a playgroup on Thursday mornings, except we cancelled it today because of sick kids.
Brevan started piano lessons a few weeks ago, and loves it. He is also in a singing group that Brenda is running. He is very musically talented, and I'm so glad we've found some things he can excel in. Brynlie and Lindsey both start dance again this week. Bryn is taking a Jazz class and a Hiphop class. Lindsey is taking a ballet/tap/jazz combo class. Lindsey also started preschool last week. Oh, while I'm mentioning activities, Brevan earned his Webelos badge last month. Good job, buddy!
I have been golfing with Ryan quite a bit this summer. I'm a beginner, so it takes a lot longer when I join him, but he enjoys helping me learn the game. We went together on Labor Day, and it was my worst game ever! I may have said a few choice words, but I will not confirm or deny it.
I LOVE FALL!! I've always loved it, but this is the first fall since I was a teenager that I haven't been miserable with allergies! I've had a few days where my eyes itch for a few minutes, but THAT'S IT!! It's honestly amazing to me. I can go outside and not cringe when I see the trees that usually make me so sick. I'm grateful that all these allergy shots are starting to pay off!
I've been running at night lately. It's dark by the time I go, because it's the only time I can fit it into my schedule, so it's not very safe. But at least I'm doing it. I need to set a goal for an upcoming race. Many other girls I know just run races without training (ya, I'm talking about you, Meredith) but I'm not a great runner and really have to train to do decent in the race.
The other day I realized that with each of my children, I was pregnant by the time my youngest was Logan's age. Each of my kids are a month shy of 3 years apart. It cracks me up that it happened that way, because I could have eliminated a lot of stress by just trying to get pregnant during that one month when it worked! It didn't matter if I tried for 2 weeks (with Logan) or a year (with Lindsey), I always got pregnant when my baby was 2-and-2-months. But . . .I'm not pregnant! And never will be again! Hurray!! Although I do miss my babies, I LOVE that by baby is two, and my life is getting a bit easier. And I don't have to start all over again! Woohoo!! My little family of 6 is just the perfect size for me.
Well, poor Logan has been sitting in a poopy diaper for quite a while. I guess I'll go change him now. It will be a REAL party here when I no longer have to deal with diapers!!
