Tuesday thoughts

Yesterday I read on the internet that Mel Gibson and his wife just got divorced. I'm not a big Mel Gibson fan, but I was very sad. Strange, I realize. But I've read about their long marriage (28 years) and children (SEVEN - that's unheard of in Hollywood!) for many years, and was so proud of them. There was finally a Hollywood couple making things work in their marriage and enjoying life with their children. This may be the oddest thing I ever write about on my blog, but it just seems like such a shame to have it all come to an end after so many years together. Anyone who has been married for more than an hour knows that marriage is a lot harder than it appears on the Disney movies. I have the greatest respect and admiration for couples I know that have faced more than their fair share of marriage trials and still worked it out. So anyway, I'm just sad that the largest Hollywood family is actually breaking up.

This makes me incredibly happy though. I love to hear positive media stories about the church, since we usually only hear the negative.

And the question of the day: To cut or not to cut? I took some pictures of Logan's hair while he was entranced by Dora this morning. Am I just weird thinking that this kid looks cute with curls? Or is he going to curse me someday the way I curse my own mom for making me look ridiculous as a child? His curls make me smile, giggle and cover him in kisses.

So sorry to hear about your van - it stinks being without your car. Glad all is well - wasn't conferenc (or tv church as I call it!) great?!?! Miss you guys...

I had the same feelings about Mel Gibson's marriage. It was such a disappointment to hear they were divorcing. They'd been separated for quite some time and I always hoped they'd reconcile. It wouldn't matter to me who they were...they were married a long time and it's sad to see any marriage dissolved. But because it was in the media I paid attention because it was like cheering for the underdog. Very disappointing.
I wish I could help you with the hair cutting decision but I'm all for curls!

His curls are so cute. You should definitely leave them. I love longer hair on little boys when it is a little wavy. It always looks so cute.

I say-Keep the curls, for as long as you can, they don't always last.. Abe had beautiful curls as a baby. Now they're all gone... :(
Logan is adorable- by the way
