So many decisions

Some people think this sort of thing is therapeutic, but I'm getting stressed out. First, I had to dig up the plants that I didn't keep alive over the winter, and pick out new ones. I love the look of a beautiful yard, but I'm not great at coordinating where to put what. I ended up buying a few more perennials and some annuals to give a bit more color this year.
Then this is the part that is really stressing me out. Before I can pick out carpet and paint colors for the redecorating in the basement, I've been buying accessories to decide on a color scheme. My first find was this curtain from Pier One Imports. I really like it, but rusty red is my "fall back color" and I already have quite a bit of it in my house. I found some paint colors that would work well with it, but then decided to see what else I could find. (By the way, the paint colors look completely different in this picture than they really are).
This was another find. Completely out of my normal color range. I liked the pillows in the store because they had a cool aqua color, but then when I got home they looked mint green. That is NOT going to work.
I also found these pillows and I'm really liking them. They have some pretty greens, browns (because we want to get brown leather couches for down there), but also have that cool aqua color as a subtle accent. Hmmm. Too many decisions. I have to decide quickly, because Ryan took Friday off work so he could paint with me all day. Brenda is going to watch the 2 little ones while the older ones are at school, so we should be able to knock out a lot of the painting if I can just make a decision! Someone help me!

I have a weakness for red myself. I tend to use it way too much. I love blue and brown together. Both of those pillows are really cute. Have you thought about painting your walls a light blue? We have blue in our basement (it is just a playroom) but it is such a cheery color that I like having it in my basement. Blues are hard to pick out but maybe you could take in your pillows to match the color.

Those paint colors look way greener online! I like the second pillows better; there are more colors to choose from. You could always do a "cool" neutral and then accent the curtains in the aqua. If you always fall back on the red then maybe it's time to make a bold move and do something different. I did that in my kitchen and living room and you know how much I love it!!

cute stuff! I love brown and blue together, It is so fun to redecorate, but it is hard deciding on what to do! You will have to post pictures when you are all done. You are brave to do your own painting, that is one job i can't stand doing.
