Thursday, August 14th
School starts for the kids. The house is so quiet! I start working on some projects while listening to *gasp* something other than the Disney Channel. Bella and I even enjoy a little snuggle time before it's time to pick up the kids.
Monday, August 18th
10:00 - I visit a new therapist who is going to help me laugh at the absurdity of the past year. I see the irony in receiving therapy while I am working on a degree in the therapy field, but I am reassured that the best therapists are those who have experienced the benefits firsthand.
3:30 - I sit in a doctor's office with Ryan, while we wait for the Radiation Oncologist.
3:35 - I answer a phone call from Keri because the Doctor still hasn't arrived. She tells me Brett was hired by Ryan's boss to work for NMR. They are leaving for Missouri on Thursday and will arrive Friday. Can they stay with us while they start house shopping? We overcome our shock about the news and tell them they are welcome to stay.
Friday, August 22nd
3:30 - Ryan receives his last radiation treatment!
7:00 - The Webb family arrives at our house. I've been researching houses all week and have arranged for an NMR Real Estate Agent to show them houses. We have adjusted to the idea of having family close by again, and are excited to have them with us.
Saturday, August 23rd - Wednesday, August 27th
I tag along with Keri and Brett as we tour house after house. I am once again reminded that I need to get a Real Estate License someday because I absolutely love the research involved. They narrow the search down to 2 properties: one in Kearney and one in Liberty.
Wednesday, August 27th
I pick up my parents from the airport to begin our much-neeed family vacation. The Webbs go to a hotel for a few days while my parents stay at the house.
Thursday, August 28th - Friday, August 29th
My Mom and I go shopping for paint and decorations for the Master bedroom and bathroom. Project Get-Rid-Of-Gloomy-Cancer-Room has begun!
Saturday, August 30th
We begin our journey to the lake with my parents. The Webbs move back into our house.
We are having a very relaxing (bordering on lazy) time here in Branson. We have laughed, slept, been adventurous, and created fun family memories.
Up next:
* The chaos begins. Football practice, piano practice, dance practice, volleyball practice, etc.
* My parents fly home on Saturday after we drive back to Kansas City.
* The Webbs accepted a counter-offer on a house in Liberty and are looking forward to getting their kids enrolled in school and getting settled. Brett started his job this week.
* The Staileys arrive in Kansas City on Wednesday, the 10th and will stay with us for 5 days. Where will they sleep in our house that is already packed with 12 people? That is a fantastic question. But we will enjoy the craziness!
* On Monday, September 15th, the Webbs will move to a rental house as they wait to move into their purchased home, the Staileys will fly back to Utah, and I will begin another semester of college classes.
Whew. Life never slows down. I'm excited for all the new adventures!
