Brevan turns 15

FIFTEEN.  Someone make it stop.  How has this happened?

This handsome dude is just awesome.  That's all there is to it.

His main present from us was a trip to Nebraska with his Dad to see the Avenged Sevenfold rock concert.  He has begged us for years to let him attend a real rock concert, and we decided he had to be 15.  We also gave him a Snowflake microphone he can use to create Youtube videos about Minecraft.  His Grandparents gave him a DVD collection of all the National Geographic magazines back to the 1800s and a metronome.  He declared them the best birthday presents he has ever received.

After opening presents on his birthday, the kids enjoyed some Daddy time.  I included this picture because it shows the chaos we call home.  Kids climbing everywhere, lots of noise, and at least one child in tears.  It's a great life.

We all got in the truck to head out for a birthday lunch, and we had Brevan drive us much of the way there.  DRIVE US!  In Missouri, the kids are given a drivers license at age 15, but they have to drive with a parent for a full year.  There are no drivers ed courses given, so the responsibility is all on the parents.

A close-up of this boys facial hair.  I force him to shave it regularly, but he's a hairy beast.

Brevan picked Indian food for our family lunch on his birthday.  I'm not a huge fan, but I love trying different foods!

The cake I made Brevan for his birthday, complete with an edible Minecraft printable.

The weekend following his birthday, Brevan had a birthday party.  He had asked me if he could have a party with boys and girls.  I'm always up for a party, so I went into planning mode.  The new Thor movie was being released in the theaters that week, so we planned lunch at Freddy's before seeing the new movie.  Brevan had 11 friends attend the party:  3 friends from school (Anthony, Ivan and Jack) plus 8 friends from church (Damion, Tanner, Tyndale, Jarom, Ella, Brittin, Katie and Jojo).  Ryan and I had to drive both vehicles to be able to take all the kids.

I loaded the kids up with candy, soda and popcorn while they enjoyed the movie.  I think everyone had a great time!

Happy birthday, my big 15-year-old!  I'm so proud of the man you are becoming.

I can't believe Brevan is 15! Happy Birthday! And that he is driving and that Missouri doesn't require drivers ed. Wow - Washington is pretty restrictive. Even after getting a license a 16 year old can't drive anyone other than family for quite awhile! I also can't believe how much Brevan is looking like Ryan.
