Ciara's baby shower

Me and Jill put together a baby shower last weekend for our sweet friend, Ciara, who just adopted a baby boy after many years of waiting.  It was a lot of fun to plan and prepare for the party, because I love bringing people together to have a good time and reconnect.  Although I always worry in the hours before the party that everyone will feel included and enjoy themselves, it always works out.  I'm a planner and I love having fun events on my calendar!

I spent the day before (and day of) the baby shower making 140 cupcakes in my kitchen.  I tried out a couple new recipes - Ginger Pumpkin Cupcakes and Coconut Cupcakes- and they were both really yummy.  I found the cupcake decorations at TJMaxx and the paper goods at a party store.  I also made a banner to go above the fireplace and had Claire make some of her famous "puff balls" to hang up.  I asked my friend, Karen, if we could have the party in her backyard because it's so gorgeous and has a pool that entertained all the little kids.  We had a great turnout - about 50 people, and Ciara was properly celebrated with lots of fun baby loot!
