Girl Time

While the boy's (Ryan, Brevan and Logan) had a boy day at Batman movie (which they ended up missing because the line was too long), the girls and I hit the town for some girl time.

First stop, Claire's to get the girl's ears pierced.  Brynlie got her ears pierced a few years ago, but was so traumatized by trying to get the starter earrings out that she let the holes grow back in.  She's been excited but apprehensive about getting them re-pierced.  I didn't really think Lindsey was old enough to have her ears pierced, but I gave in after much begging and reminding me that Brynlie got her ears pierced when she was turning 8 so she could wear cute earrings to her baptism.

The girls were both nervous, but excited about getting their ears pierced.  The experience was MUCH more stressful than planned on, but it wasn't from my girls being in pain!  When we got to Claire's, there were 2 piercings ahead of us.  The first one was a 10-year-old girl that did really well when the earrings went in (so at first she was helping to relieve some of the worry my girls were having), but then started having a SEIZURE.  It was a scary moment until the parents were able to calm the girl, but by then my girls were really questioning their decision!  I told them we could leave and go do something else, but they were determined to go through with the piercings.  The next piercing was a newborn baby who SCREAMED when the earrings went in.  The baby's mom, grandma and aunt were all in tears watching her.  I couldn't understand why they would put the innocent baby through that pain!

Next up was Brynlie and then Lindsey.  They were nervous, but remained calm and were completely thrilled with the result of their cute earrings!

After the girls got their new earring accessories, we went to the Sunglass Hut, so I could get my own new accessory.  Then it was off to Yogurtini for dessert.

Lindsey made me pose for some pictures in my new shades.  She would tell me how to pose before taking my picture.

The last adventure on our fun day was to the nail salon so the girls could get pedicures.  The kid-sized butterfly chairs are so cute!
