Even though we've been close friends for a couple years now, we realized the Napiers have never come on our boat with us. We beat this nasty heat (over 100 degrees for weeks now, and the 7-day forecast shows that we won't be getting a break anytime soon) by spending yesterday on Smithville Lake.
Ryan, sucking in his gut for his model shot.
Logan has overcome his fear of waves and loves to swim in the lake!
We had Christine and Josh be first up on the tube.
Then it was time for the boys to show their bravery. When it was finished, Parker proclaimed (in true Parker fashion): "That was WEAK! You didn't even drive fast!"
Brynlie was less than excited to get out on the tube, telling us that she doesn't like water sports. We told her (like we always do) that we are a water family and she needs to get over it. She rode the tube with Lindsey and Madelyn.
Lindsey is our daredevil. She likes to dance while riding the tube! Notice Brynlie's face in this picture is NOT happy as she told her sister to SIT DOWN.
By this point, the older girls were sick of Lindsey's shenanigans and told her to get off the tube, so Lindsey turned around and fell off while still going 15 mph. Silly girl.
I rode the tube with Logan and Lindsey for a few minutes, until the tube dumped us and we all went over. Although the kids had lifejackets on, I grabbed Logan and pulled him out of the water. I was surprised at how far he fell under the water before I pulled him back up. I'm so grateful for lifejackets. He was not happy about dumped off the tube!
Brevan even tried waterskiing for the first time. After many tries he was starting to get his balance, but will need to go on the boat with Ryan on a different day when there aren't so many people waiting on him.
