Life is good

The temple dates were announced!  The Open House will be in April, with the Cultural Presentation on May 5th (that Brevan gets to participate in!) and the official dedication on May 6th.  So exciting!!

This week, I taught my last preschool class for the year.  It was so much fun to do "homeschool preschool" with Logan, and I'm hoping some moms will want to do it again next year!  For the last class at our house, I set up an obstacle course in the basement, helped them finger paint, put together scrapbooks for the kids, and showed them how to make cereal necklaces.  Super fun times.  I measured and weighed all the kids in the class, as part of the scrapbook.  Logan weighed 40 pounds and was 44 inches tall, putting him at about 60th percentile on weight and 80th percentile on height. Next week, the preschoolers start class at the High School Preschool.

Lindsey started playing basketball on an Upwards basketball team, and is so much fun to watch!  She's quite the amazing little point guard, and is announced as "Lindsey Quick Feet Ellefsen" at the beginning of every game.  In today's game, she scored 4 baskets, including one for the other team (haha) and one from so far away that the crowd called it a 7-year-old 3-pointer.  She has such intense concentration when she plays sports, and I just giggle with delight when watching her.  Well, giggling sounds like I'm quiet, which I'm not.  I jump up and down and scream the whole time.

Trips are planned!  Bryn and I leave for Texas in 13 days, then Ryan and I are jetting off to Puerto Rico in March, then the annual girl trip with my mom and sisters will be to Las Vegas in April.  I love this time of year when I feel like a world traveler!  For some reason, all the trips seem to happen at around the same time every year.

Yesterday I canned 53 bottles of chicken!  It was a two day project because I cooked 15 whole chickens on Thursday, de-boned them all that evening and bottled them yesterday.  I'm enjoying the whole canning process so much that I'm going to start pressure cooking more items.  I'm quite impressed with myself!

The treadmill is being put to good use.  After a month of eating better and exercising, I have not managed to lose any inches or pounds, but feel much better physically.  Ryan, on the other hand, has lost 10 pounds already, without really trying hard at all.  Dang men.

Brevan is enjoying his Chess Club, where he gets beat by 6-year-old girls on a regular basis.  He loves the instructor and is excited to join a league when these classes end.

I have read some great books this year with my Book Club.  The last couple we've read, "Rebecca" and "Unbroken" were both amazing.

I head back to the urologist office this week.  Ryan heads off to Maine for business.

We are alive, well, and busy.  Life is good!
