Today I ran the farthest and hardest I've ever run. I had so much energy and just couldn't stop. Love that feeling of working off the gunk and grime!
Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids! Welcome, summer! My kids are already moaning about the "schedules" I give them. They each have specific requirements of scripture reading, personal reading, exercising and chores that need to be finished before the TV or computer are turned on for the day. I'm such an evil Mother, wanting them to stay spiritually, physically and mentally challenged over the summer. Some day they will appreciate my craziness and the cute charts I make.
We have the Simmons kids here for the weekend, while Brad and Brenda spend some wonderful time alone down at Lake of the Ozarks. It's a busy household with 7 kids here, but it's been a lot of fun to hear all the extra giggles. I'm a bit worried about getting 7 children ready for church in the morning, though.
I found out late tonight that both the Primary Music Leader and Piano Player won't be at church tomorrow. Oh the joys of a Saturday night as the Primary President! At least I got a counselor to attend the early-morning meetings tomorrow because . . .again, I'm not quite sure how smoothly my morning will go when I'm beautifying 7 children (and hopefully myself).
I'm feeling some pretty intense sadness about the Joplin disaster. I've become a bit obsessive about watching the news updates and broadcasts. I wish I could do more to help those who are mourning.
But the pool opens on Monday! So take a guess where we will be?!?
