Feaster 2011

All the usual things happened on Easter Feaster this year:
  • The Easter Bunny filled up the baskets with all sorts of goodies.
  • The Easter Feaster had lots of good grub.  The Simmons came over and brought some of the usual delicious items, such as homemade rolls with homemade jam.  I made a maple ham and we each contributed many side dishes.
  • We attended church, where there was a beautiful Easter program in Sacrament.  The Spirit was strong, and we enjoyed the special day to think about Christ's atonement and resurrection.
  • I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning on Easter Eve, making and wrapping treats for all the kids and teachers in Primary, since it was a special holiday.
  • The egg hunt was successful and the kids were sufficiently loaded up on sugar.
  • Ryan and I enjoyed quite a few Cadbury Creme Eggs.  By quite a few, I mean entire packages.
After spending so much time working on what-was-supposed-to-be a quick treat to make, I had to take a picture of the cute birds nests.  Then I wrapped each of the 100 nests in a baggie, and stuck on one of the notes seen in the next picture.  Super easy, and they were a hit.

Easter morning!  Another day for the kids to be spoiled by that darn Bunny who swears it's not going to bring as much each year.  This picture shows Logan's loot, which includes a Star Wars action figure and flying thinger-majig (I am not exactly a Star Wars fan, but this boy is OBSESSED), Spiderman sunglasses and Lightning McQueen sandals for summer.
Lindsey's loot.  3 pair of Justice flipflops, sunglasses she has been coveting, sticker book, shirt and the darling doll/backpack.  Suzie Anna (as she is lovingly called) has straps on her back and a zipper on her bum for holding favorite items.  She has literally gone everywhere with us since then.
Brynlie's basket, also with 3 pair of Justice sandals, a new Justice outfit, sunglasses, books and nail polish.  I heard that the Easter bunny discovered Justice items at TJMaxx, since it's too cheap to get anything from the actual Justice store.  Smart bunny.
And finally, Brevan's treasures.  A much-wanted game (that is very expensive and quite boring . . .oops, did I say that?), watergun to annoy the sisters with this summer, and a few books from Deseret Book.

It was quite the early morning, since we had to leave for church at 8:30 after seeing the presents and eating a yummy breakfast.  I took some pictures of the kids dressed in their Easter Sunday best.  Lindsey is super proud of the doll dress that matches her new Easter dress.

After a nap, eating and laughing with the awesome Simmons, the kids all ran down the street for the Easter egg hunt at Napier's house.  Christine and Josh decided to join us rebellious Mormons for an egg hunt on Sunday evening.  Since their yard has many trees and bushes, we had Will and Brevan hide the eggs and then let all the other kids search for them.  The excited kids in this picture are Chloe, Logan, Jorja, Lindsey, Logan Simmons, Jillian, Madelyn, Parker and Brynlie.

Pictures of me with some of my besties . . .my favorite Brenda . . .
. . .and beautiful Christine.  A storm was blowing in about this time.

The three cute friends - Chloe, Jorja and Lindsey.
And the other trio of friends - Madelyn, Brynlie and Jillian.
The guys shot hoops and reminisced about the days when they had hair.  We love these men!
