A walk down memory lane

My scrapbooks are slowly being ruined by my adorable, destructive children, so I've been trying to upload some of the pictures into my computer. Now that our world is so digital, it's scary to think that I often scrapbooked the only copy I have of many photos.
Brynlie has recently become a huge Taylor Swift fan. There are some very cute songs on her CD's, one of which really goes along well with these photos. The song is called "Fifteen" but I changed the words to say "sixteen" because I was far too hideous for any boy to date at fifteen. I wasn't much better by sixteen, but at least there were some boys nice enough to risk their reputation by dating me.
You take a deep breath and you walk through the doors
It's the morning of your very first day
You say hi to your friends you haven't seen in a while
Try to stay out of everybody's way

(Sophomore picture taken the day I registered for high school. Mom and Dad, thank you for spending the money on braces. That smile is awful!)

And then you're on your very first date and he's got a car

And you're feeling like flying

(All ready for my first date to the Sweethearts Dance, which was held the day after I turned 16. There are so many things wrong in this picture, that I'm not even going to start commenting.)

(Junior picture. At least the braces are fixing my smile, but they sure don't help me look any better. Why did no one tell me that if I didn't like my eyebrows I should PLUCK them, not color them in darker?)

Cause when you're sixteen and somebody tells you they love you

You're gonna believe them

When you're sixteen and your first kiss

Makes your head spin round

(Junior Prom at the State Capital)

(Family picture taken June, 1994. The high amount of denim in this picture is burning my eyes.)

(Christmas Dance)

In your life, you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team
I didn't know it at sixteen
(Getting ready for the Sweethearts Dance, Senior Year.)
(Senior Prom. The boys decided to be funny and show up in pink tuxedos.)

(I had a fascination with large bows on the back of my dresses.)

(Some of the gang on Spring Break in St. George, right before we went to church. Me, Amy, Janee, Tera and Amber.)

(Me and Janee in my flashy 1993 Honda Civic. We sure had a lot of good times in that car.)

(Senior Dinner Dance)

(Senior Picture)

Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday

But I realized some bigger dreams of mine

(Me and Colby, after the downpour of rain at graduation.)

(Graduation day!)

(I may have had a slight obsession with Steve Young back in the day.)
When all you wanted was to be wanted
Wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now
(18 years old)

(Hugging Kara and her wedding reception, August 1995.)

(Our last day at Lake Powell, right before we all headed off for college. Tera, Janee, Amber, Amy and me.)

(First day at Utah State University, with my roomie Janee. I wonder if we knew that roommates don't actually have to dress the same.)

(Holding my first niece, Ashlyn, right when she came out of the delivery room on November 7th, 1995.)

I've found time can heal most anything

And you just might find who you're supposed to be

I didn't know who I was supposed to be at sixteen.

(Me and Ryan, outside King Henry Apartments in Provo, Utah. Summer, 1996.)

How cute, your gorgeous even pre-and during the braces times. I love the big bows and bangs, and the matching room mates shirts!
