Today I took three of my kids, plus Holland and Dominick, to see the reenactments at a late-1800's village. The actors really took the part seriously at times, so the boys got a bit nervous during the shoot-outs and Dominick wouldn't step foot in the "doctor office," where the "doctor" said he could extract any child's loose tooth. While the kids were all sitting in the old schoolhouse getting taught a "lesson," some actors ran in and shouted about gunmen in the church who were holding hostages. It was good timing, because the boys were goofing off and were about to be sent to the corner to wear the dunce hat. We all ran to the church to witness another "shoot-out" between the Sheriff and the gunmen.
There are a lot of pictures in this post that I want to include in my blog book, but the most interesting ones are where the girls pretended to be animated Preachers in the church, and the description of Mormons in the 1872 bible that sat on the pulpit. Are you kidding me with this???
The girls recognized this man as their previous bus driver! He goes all over the country in the summertime, participating in many reenactments. Last week he was in Gettysburg.
What a bunch of lies!
