The last morning on the cruise ship arrived, and we all grudgingly pulled ourselves out of bed to enjoy one final breakfast on board before getting off the ship. Our cell phones began working again since we had docked in Galveston overnight, so we checked our messages and were surprised to find several from the furnace repairman, stating that he'd been working on the furnace all week but was still not able to make it work. It was a bit unnerving to know that strangers had been in our house every day while we were away, and that the price tag was reaching sickening numbers.
Lindsey's gangster look makes me laugh in this picture. Chloe is being her normal, super sweet self!
Saying goodbye to Putu and Alan, who we grew to love!
Then it was time to walk off the ship, with only our memories of the amazing week we'd had. I told Brynlie to show me how she felt about the vacation coming to an end, and this is what she did.
Brevan was super happy when Gabrielle walked by and told him goodbye. What a boost to his self-esteem!
We piled in our cars and began the long journey back home. This time we took a slightly different route and stayed in Oklahoma City for the night. My back was hurting me pretty badly after we arrived, so I stayed at the hotel while Ryan and the kids grabbed some dinner and brought it back to me. We got on the road pretty early the following morning and arrived home in the late afternoon to a FREEZING COLD house. We immediately started the space heaters again and had the kids wear extra layers to bed. The next day we were surprised to get dinner from a family in the ward, as well as treats from the Relief Society President, because they had heard about our cold predicament. I have a hard time being served, but the hot dinner really helped ease the pain of leaving the 80 degree weather behind for 20 degrees with no heat! What a rude awakening! It took 5 more days and several repairmen to finally get our furnace fixed. Now we are fighting them on charges for the many parts they replaced that ended up not being the problem.
I am so impressed with the way Disney runs it's company. Before the cruise I only pictured Disneyland rides anytime I thought of Disney. The cruise ship was the perfect vacation for our family, because there are amazing activities for every age level, so each of us felt like we had our own personal vacation. The ship was always very clean, the employees were always friendly and helpful, the shows were incredible, the food was some of the highest quality I've ever tasted . . .I sound like I'm a travel agent, but I was just so happy that the vacation we've been planning turned out so well! All of us even managed to remain healthy during the flu and cold season. It was fun to bond with the Napier's more and share such happy memories with them.
