This was our first time eating at Parrot Cay, another restaurant on the ship. The kids were excited that it was a Character Breakfast, so all the Disney characters came to see us while we ate. Breakfast was awesome, but I can't properly put into words how delicious the food was on board the ship.
After breakfast, we did a family activity before having the kids head off in their own directions. We played Family Feud against an LDS family from Utah. We couldn't believe how many LDS people were on the ship. Honestly, I bet at least a fourth of the the 2,500 cruisers were Mormon! It was fun to get to know other families, and Napiers even ran into a family they knew when living in Maryland.
Every evening we received a very detailed schedule of the following day's events. We would look at this many times throughout the day to decide what activities each of us wanted to participate in. There were events for the whole family, events for each age group of kids and adult-only activities. There was NEVER a dull moment!
The youngest kids wanted to spend some time in the pool after being in the kid's club for a while. It wasn't very warm this first day at-sea, so the swimming didn't last very long.
This is how I spent a little time each day . . .relaxing in the sun on my personal balcony with a good book. I also ordered room service anytime I was lounging around. My daily food-consumption went something like this:
Breakfast
Dessert
Brunch
Lunch
Dessert
Afternoon snack
Dessert
Dinner
Dessert
Late-night munchies
Sometimes an actual late-night meal
Dessert
It was pure awesomeness. No cooking, no cleaning, no counting calories.
That evening was "formal night" on the ship. I don't know how everyone else knew the "theme" of the day. Apparently I didn't pay close enough attention to the registration info. I wore a dress for a few minutes before realizing my belly had already grown a couple sizes and I looked pregnant. I hadn't packed anything remotely formal for my kids, but Ryan wore a nicer outfit while I chose my favorites: jeans and a t-shirt. Christine had obviously gotten the memo about formal attire, because the Napiers all looked great in their dressy clothes.
After dinner, it was time for our first experience in the Disney theater! The little girls chose to wear their pajamas and bring their blankies/teddy bears to the show. It was a good thing because they often fell asleep during the production and had to be tucked right into bed when it ended. This night's production, called "Twice Charmed," was a twist on the Cinderella story. The girls loved it, the boys thought it was OK, and I could have spent every minute of my vacation watching the amazing Broadway-style shows!
Super cute guy! He carried his Mickey doll around everywhere he went, and fell asleep cuddling it at night.
