Pool Party

I had the greatest idea this year. Since we've been so busy lately, I didn't have the energy to do a big "Back to School Bash" like I usually do at the end of summer. I also didn't want to throw four different birthday parties for my kids, who all have birthdays this time of year. My solution was a big Pool Party where the kids can invite all their friends (and their friend's families) to celebrate. That means I got 5 parties over with in one night! Hurray! And it was a BLAST! Lots of families were on last-weekend-of-the-summer vacations, but we still had a great crowd show up. We rented the Country Club pool from 6 to 9 pm for our private party. I loaded up on cupcakes, cookies, soda, Kool-aid, and lots of prizes for the big event. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night:

Clayton Campbell, getting ready to show us his best cannonball off the diving board. He won the whole competition by making the biggest splash!

My baby is so cute. I just want to cover that body in smooches.
The almost-missionary, Cody Jameson, was nice enough to bring his nieces and nephew to the party. I have a serious obsession with this baby girl, the Beautiful Bella. I have set up an arranged marriage between her and Logan. Believe me, Logan will be thanking me someday because she is gonna be one gorgeous girl. Hopefully she loses the binky by then.
The always fabulous Pam and Kim, bronzing themselves in the sunshine!
Fellow Gator and NMR-er, Susan Woehrman!
Big Buff Tanner.
Lindsey and some of her best buddies . . .Macy, Aeva and Jorja.
Superstar Amber!
This is the family from Texas that just moved into our new neighborhood. We LOVE having the Napiers live so close!

More new members of our "church family," the Martineau's, with their three darling girls.

A great time was had by all in the baby pool.
Chloe, Ayriana and Cate!
The party-pooper dads, Ande and Brad! We found it funny that many of the guys congregated to one side of the pool, while the girls congregated to the other side. It was like a Junior High dance all over again! We had a hard time deciding which boy we were hoping would ask us to dance . . .the one in the wife-beater shirt, the one with the receding hairline, or the one with no hair at all . . .tough decisions!

Brynlie with two of her BFFs, Megan and Jillian.
Cute-as-a-button Claire Woehrman. SHE has arranged her marriage to Brevan. Someday maybe the age difference won't make Brevan wrinkle up his nose in disgust.
My four favorite little people, while we all sang "Happy Birthday" to them!
Bring on the food! And try not to lose your appetite when you see Brevan's theatrical moves in this picture.

Brevan's friend, Emma Post, who I've talked about on this blog before. She is such a sweet, kind girl.
I went to Sam's Club to stock up on 90 cupcakes. Some Hello Kitty for the girls, some Baseball for the boys, and some unisex Spongebob.

The best part of a pool party? When you get messy, just jump in the water to get clean! The pool was rather nasty by the time we left.
Amber took this picture of me with my Bullhorn. I had the kids compete in many games, and they all walked away with a prize at the end of the night. We had floatie races, cannonball splash competitions and swimming races across the length of the pool. Even some of the adults got in on the action! The best race of the night was when Cole Myers (age 13) beat Kim Thorne (age . . .I won't say . . .but an extremely strong and experienced swimmer) and Ryan (age . . .old) in a freestyle swim. We need to get that kid on our Gators swim team next year!
I'm not sure who this wrinkled lady is, but she needs to pull up her swimming suit.
Maureen Brown with Barbara and Shaun Haney (and Camden)!
And this guy is SUCH a chick magnet! Geez. I always knew he was popular with the ladies, but they just hung on to him all night!

What a fun way to end our summer! Thanks to everyone who came!
