Out with the old and in with the new

Today I sold these couches on Craigslist. They have barely been used after being bought brand-new for over $800, and I sold them for $100 just to get them out of my garage. Let me tell you a decorating lesson these couches taught me. When you have pink carpet (that you hate), you should not buy couches (that you don't really like) to match. While in our house in Lehi, we had the dilemma of not being able to afford new carpet in our living room, so I decided to buy this couch and loveseat, hoping that the pink carpet would not look so out of place. Bad idea. We moved to Missouri a year later and kept these couches in the storage room. I am not a floral kind-of-girl, so it makes me laugh every time I see these couches. Now they have a new home, where they will hopefully be appreciated and enjoyed, instead of laughed at.
While on the subject of "out with the old", we traded in our 2001 Nissan Altima today, and bought this:A 2010 Toyota Tundra. I know there are a lot of shocked readers out there. It is quite amazing that I've finally allowed my husband to buy the brand-new truck that he's been coveting for years. And I didn't even throw a fit or have a panic attack in the dealership. I must be growing up! We will not bring our new baby (aka, new truck) home until it has been "made over" the way Ryan wants it. This includes upgraded leather seats and chrome step boards. But it does NOT include such things as a moon roof and chrome door handles, because of a great compromise that finally took place between me and my husband. So it isn't completely his dream truck, but it's pretty darn close. And I don't completely feel like we are going to be cursed for our worldliness.
Don't tell Ryan this, but I'm actually quite excited about the truck. Plus, it will give me leverage on anything I want for a LONG TIME.

yes....leverage is good! It's fun to finally be able to see some of our dreams, silly or not, become a reality. Looks like some fun changes!
