I love this story on our news broadcast that talks about good old AWESOME Kearney Missouri, and interviews TWO of my ward members whose businesses are doing very well in this bad economy. The first one it shows is my 11-year-old scout leader, Kurt Johnsen, and the second one is Steve Thorne (also known as my BISHOP, Ryan's BOSS, and one of my best friend's HUSBAND). Woohoo!! We were so excited that Ryan's work was highlighted on the news. I'm always "making fun of" my ward friends who live in (dare I say it?) Kansas City. I let them know that Kearney is equivalent to the Celestial Kingdom, and they are just settling for less by living in other, less-holy places. =) (That comment was especially for you, Mere)!
Ryan is in Utah this week for work and is hanging out with MY parents tonight. That just doesn't seem fair at all! But it's so neat that when he travels it is almost always to Utah, where he can see family and friends. This time he got to take his first flight on the company's new private jet. It's a tough life he lives!

If I wanted to live in the sticks, I'd definitely move to Kearney!
