I LOVE warm rainstorms, so I've been pretty happy lately in Missouri, where we've had some good downpours! I am one of those crazy moms who goes outside when there's lighting and thunder . . .and takes my kids with me. Wise mothers don't let their kids run around getting soaked and screaming with excitement every time the thunder cracks! I had to take these pictures of the kids while they danced in the rain!
Lindsey started getting cold, but not cold enough to actually go inside. A towel did the job nicely!
I've spent a lot of time working on the yard lately. It's so fun to see the fruits of my labor!
Apparently my oldest daughter has her first "crush." I found this note in her closet one night. It cracks me up how she wrote "He hardly ever talks to me. He even didn't talk to me when I asked him a question." Poor girl doesn't realize that boys won't start NOTICING the girls for many more years. Once they do, they'll show their attraction by throwing things at her head.
My handsome husband finished his first year of teaching early-morning seminary. He's excited to be able to sleep in longer in the mornings, and he's grateful for the summer break from his calling. But he should realize that he's married to the Primary President, so he'll stay plenty busy with church responsibilities this summer!
And the final note: After family prayer the other night, Ryan and I were kissing the kids goodnight and sending them to their rooms. When Ryan went to kiss Lindsey, she said, "No, Daddy! I want you to FRENCH kiss me!" Ryan looked shocked and said, "What do you mean by THAT?" Lindsey proceded to kiss him on each cheek, "the way the french people do." We had a good laugh!

Oh my goodness.....your girls are tooooo cute! I so love it. That is a treasure. She'll hate you....and love you forever for saving that. And the french kiss part.....adorable. Love it!
Ohhhh the funny lives of kids!! I'm also one of the moms that takes my kids out in thunderstorms and plays in the rain...I mean you have a higher chance of getting killed in the car than by lightning right?? I also read my daughters "journal" they are too cute to pass up...and...My brinley gave me a good kiss the other night turning her head from side to side after I commented on it she blushed and said "I just wanted to know what it was like...KIDS....It looks so pretty and green there I love it!!
That french kiss story is priceless! And so something you have to embarrass her with when she gets older! =)
what a cutie Lindsey is! You should write that down! When my kids were smaller, I started a little notebook and I would write down funny things they said..It is fun to look back on. they still say some funny things and keep us laughing!
