Memorial Day 2009

We spent our Memorial Day at Smithville Lake with some friends. It wasn't the warmest of days, but no one seemed to mind. We enjoyed watching the kids run and play, eating our huge feast and spending time with good friends.

My poor buddy Brevan. He spent much of his time using the first aid kit to cover up the wounds on his legs. The warts that were frozen off last week have turned into huge sores and blisters. That could not have felt good to have sand irritate them all day!

Brevan enjoyed making sand castles with Jarom for much of the day.

Ryan is just going to LOVE me for including this on the blog (that was sarcasm, if you couldn't tell)! While playing baseball, he ran backward to catch a ball and BROKE A FENCE! I don't think his body was too injured, but his pride sure got a little hurt!

My baby boy was SO DANG CUTE the whole time we were there! He longingly watched the big boys play ball for a while. Finally he found a spare mit, put it on his hand and joined the game. He was in heaven for the rest of the day! This boy is obsessed with all kinds of balls. He can throw and kick a ball for hours on end every day!

It was a fun and relaxing long weekend that ended with me and Brenda shopping some good sales all evening. It doesn't get any better than that!

Sounds fun and relaxing. We definitely want to get together when you are out here. We are open to whatever- but know that you are always welcome to come to our house- I could BBQ and the kids could swim in the pool or just play in our yard and on the tramp.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! You'll have to go back to the lake when it's warm like bath water. It's truly a Missouri experience.
