Porters visit Missouri

Porters visited us in Missouri from April 5-12.  We loved every second we were able to spend with them!  Bailey is a beautiful, funny, tall, spiritual, confident 16 year old.  Aubrey is a musically talented, outgoing, intelligent 14 year old.  Joseph is all-boy, with a spunky, sporty 9 year old personality that fit Lindsey's perfectly.  These are some of my favorite pictures from their vacation.  Many of them were taken by Tiffany when the Porters took Lindsey and Logan with them to Far West and Nauvoo.

Liberty Jail

Taking notes while watching General Conference
Don't let the smiles on these youngest kids  fool you into thinking our children are perfect angels during the many hours of Conference.  While we thought these kids were listening to the talks and writing down their impressions, they were actually drawing monsters who throw poop.

Watching the play called Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo

Apparently the early Saints weren't as tall as Bailey (or hit their head on the doorways often).

The old schoolhouse

Logan the "shoulder angel"
This is a reenactment of his favorite Studio C skit.

Carthage Jail
This is the window where Joseph Smith fell after being shot.

How is it that I look older than both my older sisters?  So unfair.

The Nixon Cabin, where they stayed for 2 nights

Nauvoo Temple

I had to crop the photo on the right to show how amazing my forty-something year old sister looks.  I see why she was the model in our family!

Those darn Springer genes that come with sensory issues, such as light sensitivity.

Fun times in Liberty
The day the Porters were leaving, the kids put on a talent show.  Logan's talent was climbing the side of the stairs.  I think he gets his talents from me.

The photo on the left shows Bailey's reaction to eating a new food.  It was pretty hilarious to see the Porter kids reactions to the same kinds of foods I feel guilty feeding my kids too often.

The picture on the right is Bailey and Brynlie's representation of the weird way teenage girls pose for pictures these days.

We love you, Porters!  Thank you for making the long trek to visit us!

I miss living close to family.  Sniff sniff.
