Logan has adjusted very quickly to all-day Kindergarten and he is doing so well! I've adjusted to sending him off to school every morning, even though I still miss him so much! I have Lindsey and Logan ride the bus to school in the morning, but I pick them up after school every day. By that point I am missing them terribly and want to hear all about their day!
Logan is a sweetheart, and is always writing me notes and drawing pictures. I'm sure going to miss having a little person around in a few years. On the days when the older kids leave me emotionally drained, I can always count on Logan to give me a giant hug and tell me how I awesome I am.
Since we were in Utah for Logan's birthday, I didn't have the chance to give him a birthday party. I didn't throw him a party when he turned 5 either, so I decided to have a little birthday "get-together" with a couple of his friends the weekend after school started. The boys swam in the pool, played at the house, had pizza for dinner and cake/ice cream for dessert. That counts as a real party, right?
Brynlie saw a cake idea on Pinterest several months ago and showed it to Logan. He was adamant that I make the cake for his party, so I did my best. I think it turned out pretty cute!
After driving Logan and Lindsey to school on the first day, they decided to venture onto the bus for the second day. I was both nervous and excited for Logan to experience the bus for the first time. He looked so tiny climbing up those big bus stairs! Now he's a bus-riding champ, although he still prefers to have me drive him. I love that the bus picks them up right at the end of our driveway.
Logan is still not a fan of tubing behind the boat, even if we go super slow. We'll break him in eventually!
Something new we learned about Logan is that he has pretty severe allergies. I kept thinking he had an eye infection mixed with a cold, but realized he would struggle more after having a soccer practice outside. Poor kid was so miserable, and his allergy-expert mother wasn't picking up on the clues! We've since started him on allergy medications and he's doing much better. He just got over bronchitis and slight pneumonia last week. He struggled with a fever for a couple weeks, so the doctor did a few chest x-rays and saw that his lungs were packed. The antibiotics got him back on track so hopefully he won't have to miss any more school for a while.
Logan started piano lessons a couple months ago and seems to be very musically talented like his big brother! He anxiously learns his new songs and picks up on new concepts very quickly. He's making his Grandpa Ellefsen very proud!
