This spunky little 3rd grader is loving the social aspects of school, but not a fan of the actual schoolwork. By the time school gets out, she has been containing her energy for far too long and it explodes out of her. She is constantly doing cartwheels, flips or jumping. She is doing well on her soccer team again this year, which helps release some of that pent-up energy!
Some photos from the end of summer/beginning of fall:
Lindsey begged me to take her on a mommy-daughter date. She chose to have us go bowling and eat out for lunch. I think she had a good time, but she was complaining about not having the "best day of her life." Boo hoo.
Lindsey won a year supply of free doughnuts for winning the Father of the Year essay contest. Since we don't have a Krispy Kreme near us, Ryan gave the card to Nate Hughes. When Lindsey found out, she was very upset and demanded to have the card returned. Nate and Lindsey have a funny relationship - they must have been twins in a past life! Nate put the doughnut card in the mail along with this letter. We laugh so hard every time we read it!
Lindsey started her orthodontic work, which means I now have THREE children sucking away our money to improve their smiles. I was really hoping that at least one of my kids wouldn't have messed up teeth, but so far that hasn't been the case. My poor kids who inherited their parent's teeth - both Ryan and I had to endure braces for several years.
From the first day of school, Lindsey has been talking about a new best friend named Madeleine. They get along so well, and Lindsey tells me that Madeleine is a good example to other kids. Hooray for friends that are good influences! As luck would have it, Logan has become best friends with TJ, who happens to be Madeleine's little brother. I've become friends with their mom and we trade off having the kids play together on the weekends.
This princess recently turned NINE but I will do a separate birthday post for her. :)
