I have a ridiculous amount of catching up to do. I can't understand how I feel busier than ever, even though my kids are getting older. I always thought I would have more time to devote to things like blogging, but that has not happened! I can't complain though, because I enjoy the business of life and add in many activities and projects just to keep myself anxiously engaged.
I'll start with Ryan. He's been traveling more than usual, although sometimes it's been for fun instead of work. This is the private plane that he flies on often for work. The pilot is a guy in our ward. I can't even stand up straight in the plane, so I call it the "toy plane." You couldn't force me to fly on that thing.
After a trip to Utah and California for business, the plane flew into the small airport in Kearney to pick up Steve before taking all the men to New York. Logan and I went to see Ryan for a short 20 minute visit before he left out of town again. Logan toured the plane and gave his dad some hugs and kisses.
We celebrated Ryan's birthday a couple days early, since he was heading out of town for a guy trip with his friends. I gave him The Walking Dead on DVD and a tool chest with drawers full of new tools. Not only did I get him the large tool chest he'd been wanting, but I spent SEVEN HOURS assembling it all by myself because I know how much he hates putting things together. If that's not love, I don't know what is. I proved to Ryan that people can actually assemble items without cursing, since he doesn't think it's possible. I will admit there was one time when I wanted to throw the tool chest at the wall and yell a string of inappropriate words after I realized I had assembled a part wrong in the beginning and had to start all over.
Ryan went to Illinois and Indiana for 4 days last weekend on his guy trip with some of his best friends. They attended the BYU football game at Notre Dame and then spent time in Chicago. They were very impressed with Notre Dame, and said the people were so kind and welcoming. Ryan said they were welcomed to the campus about 50 times by students walking around. The Holy War game ended with a Notre Dame win, so I guess God was on the Catholics side. Pictured below are Ryan, Spencer, Brent, Nate, Brian and Jed. We are going to New York with Nate, Brian and Jed (and their wives) in just a couple weeks. Can't wait!
