August 9th turned out to be a very eventful day

Finally I'm done with vacation photos and trying to get caught up with normal life!

After getting home from Utah, I was wanting to do something fun with the kids before school started.  I decided we would see the Legoland Discovery Center that was built here last year, as a late birthday celebration for Logan.  It was the perfect place to take these three!  Lots to do and see, plus rides and movies.  

Early in the morning I had received a phone call from the kid's orthodontist, but decided to ignore it because I assumed it was a reminder for their upcoming appointment.  Later on while pulling into the parking garage in Kansas City before walking into Legoland, the orthodontist office called again.  This time I answered my phone.

Me:  Hello?

Strange man on the phone:  Is this Ali?

Me:  Yes.

Strange man on the phone:  What are you doing tonight?

Me:  Uh . . . . why?

Strange man on the phone:  How would you like to see Bruno Mars in concert tonight?

Me:  Um . . . [wondering if this guy from the orthodontist office was actually asking me out.  It's been a long time since I was asked on a date, but I'm pretty sure that's how it happened.]

Strange man on the phone:  I'm calling from Burleson Orthodontics and this morning we had a raffle for the concert tickets.  Brynlie's name was pulled, so she gets 2 free tickets!

Me:  Really?!?  Aaaaaaa!  Brynlie, you won free tickets to the Bruno Mars concert!

After getting off the phone, me and Bryn screamed with excitement for a few minutes before I turned around and saw a huge pout on Lindsey's face.  I was glad we were heading into a fun activity so she wouldn't feel too left out.

Everything in the next several photos was made entirely from legos.  There are Kansas City landmarks and replicas from The Wizard of Oz.

I took the kids to lunch at IHOP after visiting Legoland.  Sometimes they actually love each other (when I force them to hug)!

Then we headed over to the orthodontist office to pick up our winning tickets!  There were signs like this one hanging all around the office.  I hadn't noticed them before because I figure we never win anything!

This is the picture that was taken and hung up in the office.  We were pretty excited about our 15th ROW FLOOR SEATS!

After going home to prepare for our night on the town, I hired a babysitter for the youngest two (since Ryan and Brevan were still in Colorado).  Our seats were AWESOME!  I was a little nervous about taking my daughter to a real concert where some things may be inappropriate.  The concert turned out to be very clean besides the one song Bruno sings that swears.  We just chose to ignore that song and have a great time!  At one point Brynlie spilled her large soda all over the ground around us, getting purses and shoes wet and sticky.  I had to walk out of the auditorium to find a mop and start cleaning up the mess.

The people around us were very patient with the fact that Bryn couldn't see very well over their heads.  They kept worrying about her and took this picture of us.

Catching confetti as it fell from the ceiling!  It was so fun to watch Bryn dance and have a great time!  

When I woke up on August 9th, I had no idea my day would be filled with so much fun!  It was the perfect way to end the summer!
