Logan's teacher didn't have a Room Mom at the beginning of the year, so I stepped up to help. I love planning the parties and working with the kids. We did a photo booth with the Kindergarteners, and I created a simple frame project they could finish in 10 minutes. If I do say so myself, the activities were super cute and fun was had by all. I'm glad the school let us serve cupcakes because many parents are trying to get rid of all treats in schools. How can you possibly celebrate a holiday without sugar? Logan chose to have his best buddy, TJ, join him in the photo booth. I never realize how tall my kids are until I compare them to other kids their age.
I took a break to check on Lindsey's class party. She was hanging out with two of her besties: Madeleine and Abby.
Ryan and Brevan were supposed to be in Washington DC on Valentines Day, so I had offered to watch kids for anyone wanting to go on a date with their spouse. I was excited to watch a couple cutie-pie kids, including this newly-adopted baby boy, Micah. He wasn't a very Happy Camper and cried almost the whole time. It made it a little easier to give him back at the end of the night.
*Why do I have dark circles around my eyes in every picture now? Getting old and saggy is not cool.
I'm the Compassionate Service leader, and it's always hard to find someone to help out on Friday, so I had decided earlier in the week that I would make dinner for a needy family that evening. With all the craziness of the day, I forgot about the dinner until after 6:00. Pizza to the rescue!
In the morning, I went straight from Logan's basketball game to help a friend who was moving. I packed up boxes, scrubbed toilets and wiped walls for several hours.

I had another friend ask if I could watch her kids that night while she enjoyed a date with her husband, so I got to babysit 4 more kids, including another baby that wanted to be held and bounced all night. While entertaining the house full of kids, I got a text asking if I could fill in as Relief Society teacher the following day. I've started to enjoy teaching and didn't want to make someone else plan a lesson at the last minute, but I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. It took me an hour of talking myself through it, but I made the decision to turn down the opportunity to teach. It was painful to have to say "no," but I was very proud of myself afterward. I figured I had done my fair share of serving over the weekend, and I still had hours of homework to finish.
I guess I'm finally growing up.
