This week I'm grateful for our busy, joyful, stressful, amazing, dysfunctional lives. Every day is full of ups and downs and sometimes it wears me out, but I realize that not all of Heavenly Father's children are so blessed.
My Logan adores babies. My girls have always been baby lovers, but Logan tops them both. He will coo and squeal with excitement anytime he sees a baby, and he loves to help take care of them. I babysat this little cutie this past week, and Logan was a huge help. He kept her entertained, fed and laughing. He even read her books until she fell asleep.
The highlight of the week was definitely the Broadway play date with my two girls. We saw Mary Poppins at the Music Hall in downtown Kansas City. I was excited for the show, but it blew me away! The choreography was some of the best I've ever seen on stage. It was the perfect show for Lindsey's first experience with a Broadway play. We've been singing "Chim Chim-er-ee" and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" every since!
The Spirit was so strong at church today. This past week had left me feeling a bit overwhelmed, so I relished in the comfort of the Spirit. I love the three hours of weekly church that give me hope, comfort, desire, strength and faith to tackle another 7 days of chaos. Today was a special treat because Brevan bore his testimony in Sacrament meeting. It was such a pure, honest testimony, without any "fluff." He bore testimony about the power of the atonement in working through the repentance and forgiveness processes. Many ward members told me they were very impressed with his maturity, and one friend was brought to tears as she hugged me and congratulated me on raising such a wonderful boy. I thanked her, and enjoyed a few moments of feeling successful in my mothering, because all mothers know how fleeting those moments can be. I often pray that the world doesn't ruin my children, and hope I can at least be their behind-the-scenes cheerleader.
