Five. That's how many years it's been since I gave birth to my last baby. And that's the same amount of years I have until my babies start leaving home, because Brevan will be graduated and heading out into the real world. I can't explain the amount of emotions I have as I think about these two events. It's almost impossible for me to imagine I had a life before my sweet Logan came along, but at the same time it's seems like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant with him. The years literally do fly by. I get so sad as I realize the next five will fly by also, and suddenly my first baby will be leaving. I can't believe there was ever a time when I was excited for my kids to grow up, because I'm just really wishing I could turn back the clock and have them start getting younger.
Despite my best efforts to make my Logan stay little, he is growing up. He is the cutest (seriously THE cutest) little guy in all the world. He is the perfect combination of fun boy while being very sweet and sensitive. He is extremely stubborn, while still being very cuddly, loving, compassionate. Ryan and I give each other a look at least once a day that means, "Isn't he just the cutest thing?"
Unfortunately, all of Logan's friends were out of town or not available the week of his birthday. He had begged for a Chuck E Cheese birthday party, but I told him we were probably not going to have a party this year. After asking in his roundabout, hilarious way if he could maybe invite me, Ryan, Brevan, Brynlie and Lindsey to his birthday party, I agreed that we should make the trek to Chuck E Cheese. He requested Too Much Chocolate Cake, although we couldn't light the candles in the building. We took all the gifts we had wrapped and watched his adorable reactions as he thoughtfully stopped after each present to thank each person. What a sweetheart!
After a couple hours, we headed off for dinner at FIVE Guys, since my guy is now five.
